2012 - KAKA School gets needed improvements!
The primary project for be their HOPE in 2012-13 was to renovate this dilapidated building and make it into a school. Without the help of Julia and Fils(pictured above), this project would not have been possible. Julia travels often to Kinshasa and checks in on how the renovation is going. Fils, who is a resident of Congo, is our overseer of this project. Both Julia and Fils are equally passionate about helping the children of Congo have a better life through education. be their HOPE is thrilled at the progress that has been made, and even more thrilled that the children are able to use the facility.
2011 - OLJ Orphanage Gets a Generator
In 2011, be their HOPE raised over $10,000. Much of the money went to the orphanage where Troy’s and Heather’s son,Joseph, spent the first four years of his life. With the help of very generous donors, we were able to help the orphanage buy and install a generator. This generator enables the orphanage to run a small internet café and to earn some money.
